Metairie, Louisiana · Preparing to open
Safe hands. Trusted hearts. Brighter days.
Golden Glow Adult Day Health Center is a nurse-founded adult day health center being built in Metairie — a warm, safe place where older adults spend the day with health support, good company, and familiar routines, then return home each evening.
About Golden Glow
Daytime care that helps people keep living at home
Many older adults want to stay in their own homes — and many families want to help them do exactly that. What families often need is a trusted place for the hours in between: somewhere safe and welcoming during the day, with real health support, not just a place to sit.
That is the gap Golden Glow is being built to fill. As an adult day health center, Golden Glow is planning to bring health services and social services together under one roof in Metairie — nursing oversight and health monitoring alongside meals, activities, friendship, and steady daily routines.
Golden Glow Adult Day Health Center, LLC is now formed in Louisiana and is preparing for state licensing. We are not open or enrolling yet — this site shares what we are building, who it is for, and how to hear from us first when enrollment begins.
Who we serve
Built for participants — and for the families who love them
Golden Glow is being designed from the start for three groups who need each other — and for care that feels personal, not institutional.
Seniors aging at home
Older adults who want to keep living at home, with daytime supervision, health monitoring, meals, and social connection during the hours family can't be there.
Adults with memory-support needs
Calm, familiar routines, closer supervision, and activities paced for comfort and confidence — in a setting built to feel safe from the moment they arrive.
Family caregivers
Dependable relief during the day — time to work, rest, and handle life — with honest updates and the peace of mind that their loved one is in trusted hands.
Planned services
Health care and social care, under one roof
These are the services in our plan as we prepare for licensing and opening — a full weekday program that looks after the whole person, body and spirit.
Health & nursing support
Daytime health services overseen by nursing staff, so small changes get noticed early.
Health monitoring — regular wellness checks by nursing staff
Medication support — help staying on schedule through the day
Personal care — respectful help with daily needs
Care coordination — communication with families about health and daily needs
Social & daily life
The part of the day that makes it worth coming back for — company, purpose, and good food.
Meals together — shared, nourishing food at a real table
Social & therapeutic activities — conversation, music, movement, and purpose
Memory-supportive routines — steady rhythms that feel familiar
Respite for families — trusted coverage so caregivers can recharge
A day at Golden Glow
How a day will unfold
A steady, familiar rhythm — because predictable days help participants feel secure, and help families plan theirs.
Arrival
A warm welcome
Participants are greeted by name, settle in, and start the day with a wellness check and conversation over a morning drink.
Morning
Movement & activities
Gentle movement, music, games, and therapeutic activities paced for each person — lively for those who want it, calm for those who don't.
Midday
Lunch together
A shared, nourishing meal at a real table, with medication support and personal care woven in as each participant needs it.
Afternoon
Connection & quiet time
More activities and social time, balanced with rest — plus health monitoring through the day so nothing small goes unnoticed.
Heading home
A good goodbye
Participants head home for the evening, and families get a clear update on how the day went — appetite, mood, activities, and anything to know.
This is an illustration of the day we are planning. The final schedule, hours, and services will be confirmed as licensing and opening details are finalized.
Our approach
Safety and trust come first — in that order, every day
Golden Glow's brand promise is simple: families should feel safety and trust first. Here is what that means in practice.
Nurse-led, from the top
Golden Glow is founded by a registered nurse who plans to serve as owner, director, and RN at startup — so clinical judgment shapes daily decisions, not just paperwork.
Personal, not institutional
Every participant is known by name, with care shaped around the person — their routines, preferences, and family — rather than a one-size-fits-all program.
Built for memory support
Calm surroundings, familiar routines, and closer supervision are part of the plan from the start, so adults with memory-support needs can feel settled and safe.
Families stay in the loop
Caregivers are partners, not visitors. Expect honest, regular communication — the good days and the hard ones — so trust is earned daily, not assumed.
Paying for care
Planning for more than one way to pay
Golden Glow is being built dual-track from the start, so cost doesn't decide who gets care.
Founded by a nurse
Meet Kanisha Sylvester, BSN, RN, BLS-Certified
Golden Glow is being founded by Kanisha Sylvester, whose nursing career was built step by step at the bedside — beginning in 2000 as a patient care technician, then six years as a Licensed Practical Nurse, and now as a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. With 26 years in healthcare since 2000, she brings deep, hands-on experience across hospital care, home health, geriatrics, rehabilitation, and skilled nursing — the very settings where she saw how much families need a daytime option they can truly trust.
This is not a new nurse starting out — it is the work of a seasoned clinician who has cared for patients and families for years, and is now bringing that experience together under one roof. Her promise is simple: Golden Glow will be a place where safety and trust come first, and where every participant is known by name.
